I wanted to comment briefly today on a change in software that isn’t talked about much, the subscription. The move to Cloud Computing is changing how we consume software and in turn the business world around us. I know that this is a bold statement but take the following into account. A decade ago if you purchased software it would come in a box and you would install it with a CD or Floppy Disks. The software you purchased would come with a software key and could be installed possibly up to three times. The Cloud is throwing all of those models out the window. The question is why buy a year license when you can pay month to month with no penalty for canceling?
