Friday Roundup: Pulse on the Cloud

Government Cloud adoption keeps moving at an incredible pace. We’ve seen schools and cities switch to the Cloud, now it’s time for state governments. In what could set the tone for the rest of the country the State of California is switching to the Microsoft Cloud, but Google will not go gently into that good night. Without any others players besides Google and Microsoft it looks like the two will continue to battle across all 50 states for the discernible future.

I have to admit, I don’t always think of ALL of Cloud Computing’s applications. But as the thinking goes, if Cloud Computing can make it easier for small businesses why not those conducting espionage as well? Please check out this link as I think the points are very valid. Just remove the part about spying and insert “small business”. 

Watch out for Amazon’s EC2! Novell has deployed SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as a pay-per-use service on Amazon’s Cloud. I’m continually amazed at how Amazon picks up big name customers and I think they’re a player to watch. I’m just curious what they have up their sleeve

You know a technology movement has arrived when even those “stuck in the past” have adopted it. Colonial Williamsburg in the Cloud? 

We’ve talked about this before and it seems the stats are backing it up, small businesses are adopting the Cloud at a serious rate.
