An eery sense of deva ju came over me the other day and I couldn’t quite place it. I guess that’s the whole point of deva ju. For the last 12 months I’ve been fielding a lot of inbound requests for what I would consider to be basic managed services information. The type of requests that used to come in years ago but stopped once people began to learn and figure stuff out.
The types of questions that are coming are kind of basic but at the same time, coming from some very experienced companies and individuals. So, what gives? There is a second wave of mostly larger system integration and telephony VARs who are rapidly entering the managed services market and are desperately trying to accelerate their managed services maturity. These are companies who were relatively well insulated during 2009 and were not as deeply affected by the bleed off of hardware/project revenues but can still read the tea leaves and know that a change must come.
